Uplake Perch #42 [1]
Great location, big (but aged) house
Reviewed on 2024-08-26 by Cameron T. , Seattle, WA United StatesHad a great time at the lookout. Property is tucked away down a mini cul-de-sac close to Hilltop park. Had some trouble keeping the fridge in the kitchen cold, but luckily had a backup in the garage. Mattresses are very soft, would consider bringing blowup mattress for better sleep next time. Walls felt thin, so it was hard to keep kids noise levels down during infant naps and such.
Plus & Minus
Reviewed on 2024-07-13 by , Aberdeen, WA United StatesThe staff at Lookout Community was attentive & professional. The frequently scheduled evening events were unexpected & appreciated.
The home was difficult to find as it was addressed on the street below, yet access was gained from a small, unmarked lane off the street above.
The home itself was very comfortable, spacious & clean. However, the kitchen appliances were somewhat dated. We had an unworking icemaker during a week of triple digit temperatures, a burner on the stovetop refused to heat high enough to maintain a consistent temperature, & the dishwasher has a broken lower rack (wheel) with a hole in the utensil basket that dropped things into the bottom.
Also, on evenings calling for s'mores around the fire pit there was no propane.
Also, we were unable to find how to use the advertised uniqueness of the over fireplace waterfall feature (or instructions on how to do so)
The lake swimming area was small & difficult to manage due to the rockiness of the bottom. The small children's area was way too small. Some additional development of this area would improve the community immensely I think.
Overall my family had a great experience at this place, more due to the general amenities of the area in general & the Lookout Community itself.

The staff at Lookout Community was attentive & professional. House came with lots of problems but great views and location
Reviewed on 2024-02-23 by , Seattle, WA United StatesHowever, we had so many problems with the place during our stay. First, the heat thermostat was broken so we had no heat the first day/night and the outside temp went down to 29 degrees. It was freezing everywhere but esp in the lower floor. It was unbearably cold. The maintenance staff was quick to respond and arrived with two small portable heaters but it just wasn’t enough to heat a large home. They did eventually fix the thermostat but we had already gone thru two nights of misery. On top of that, none of the gas fireplaces were working. The maintenance guy got one fireplace to work but the other downstairs wouldn’t work. This was the theme for most of the trip. Lots of appliances not in great shape or not quite working properly. Also, on our last night, we were eating dinner at the table when one of the guests fell sitting on one of the dining chairs. The legs came off the top and we soon discovered that it was attached by only one bolt that was very loose. We tried to fix it by adding a bolt from one of the other chairs and realized that most chairs were missing bolts. We were so glad that one of our young kids weren’t sitting in that chair that fell. But if someone had a booster seat attached to that chair, it would’ve been very detrimental considering that chair was also next to the main floor railing that looks over the lower floor. That railing was also not bolted at the top so it shook when you touched the railing. It felt overall unsafe to have children in that area at all considering the lack of safety measures.
These things made it hard to enjoy our vacation and relax during our stay. In fact, it was extremely stressful with lack of heat, safety issues, things not functioning properly.
To start, the layout of the house is perfect for multiple families with kids or multiple couples since two rooms have an en suite bathroom. The house has wonderful views and is a great location by the playground and pool.

However, we had so many problems with the place during our stay. Family Vacation
Reviewed on 2023-07-08 by , Snohomish, WA United StatesNice big house. The downside was that there isn't a hot tub or any kind of usable yard area for kids. Also, the air was hard to regulate. If the main floor was comfortable, the downstairs was freezing. But the house was large, clean and in a good location. The kitchen was well stocked except for wine glasses. With a four bedroom house there should be more than 6 wine glasses. :)

Beautiful sunrises
Reviewed on 2023-04-23 by Julie S. , Kennewick, WA USLovely large home with great views, but in need of a few fixes.....queen bed in room with bunks must have a broken support slat. It was constantly creaky and quite uncomfortable for two people. The room with twin beds are actually more like camp beds - somewhat flimsy and thin mattresses. Two of the home's toilet seats are loose and need replacing or fixing.
COMING BACK NEXT YEAR
Reviewed on 2022-05-21 by Rosemarie H. , Silverdale, WA United StatesThe house was gorgeous, inside and out. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary wine bottle from guest services as well as the fantastic customer service they provided. While we didn’t need to contact anyone for anything, their professional and kind demeanor when checking in on our trip was nothing short of fabulous. Directions to the house were easy, as well as rules for check-in/out & our stay in general. Gorgeous area, wonderful staff, convenience of nearby stores is top tier. After staying here, my family and I have decided to come back annually. And hopefully to #42 each time!

Dirty house unprofessional staff
Reviewed on 2022-03-15 by ransier c. , Maple valley, WA USWe checked in and dropped our stuff off at our house then took off for wine tasting and dinner. We returned late on our 1st night not really being in the house much but when getting up-and-up but next morning we noticed everybody was covered in dog hair. We started to look around and it was on the furniture, beds, pillows and carpet. I messaged the staff to let them know what was going on with no response back. The next day we called to let them know what was going on since they never responded to us and the staff ignored what we told them. An hour later they call to tell us they are charging us for having a pet there when no one there has an animal. The staff was rude so the next day I was able to get ahold of the management And I now understand where they get it from. Management all but told me we we were lying and had a pet because in the pre arrival photos they couldn't see hair on the carpet. At the end they said they weren't going to charge us because they could not prove we were lying. Very unprofessional very rude very rude very dirty. I asked for half of my cleaning fee back and she said no and she didn't care if all 11 guests write reviews. At the end of this I would never stay at a location that is managed by this company.
Great stay for a group of 12
Reviewed on 2022-01-02 by Robert C. , Lynnwood, WA United StatesOur family group of 12 had a great stay. The separate living spaces allowed the kids and adults to have their own space, and it is very spacious. We loved the kitchen pantry and 2nd refer so our food storage was easy. The year-round pool and hottubs were great for our teens, even in zero degree weather. The parking for 4 vehicles was cramped but workable. One minor item that could be improved would be a larger supply of utensils and cups; we seemed to regularly run short.

It was the week of the heat wave and temps at 100. The homes HVAC system kept up and made the inside comfortable. The outside facilities and guests options were amazing. We used all the pools and the shuttle to the lake. The staff and grounds keepers were beyond great. We had an amazing time and would book this property again for a gathering of our family.

Uplake perch stay
Reviewed on 2020-06-03 by Kristin F. , Cheney, WA United StatesWe arrived at check in time on Thurs. We attempted to avoid going into office, but the signage, address etc was not clear on finding our rental and the staff driving around weren’t sure where it was. I strongly feel there could be better signage for some locations within community.
There was a repairman working on AC when we arrived that worked on system for awhile, I asked for his card as he left because it didn’t seem to be cooling as it should. He said to let him know if it wasn’t right in the morning. It was a very miserable night as temperatures were quite warm and it was clearly not working. He came back the next day at 2:30 pm and didn’t leave until 7:30, having to be in and out of the house the whole time, leaving someone to be in home while he was working on it. It didn’t fully cool until our 3rd day, so it was pretty uncomfortable on the two hottest days of our stay. There were also other things that did not work in house, including the soaking tub in master bedroom- ( missing knob, but no indication that it was not available to use) fireplace randomly came on when it was already hot in house with no directions on shutting off, water feature on wall also was not working.
In general I feel it was not to the standards of our usual stays at Lookout. I understand a dog friendly home, but the rug in main living area had pieces of dog food and a lot of dog hair in it as if it hadn’t been cleaned, vacuumed before we arrived.
When you save to take a family vacation, you just hope to not have to deal with maintenance issues that take away from your time to have fun and relax with your family.

Labor Day Weekend with the Family -
Reviewed on 2018-09-23 by , Chehalis, WA USI want to start off by saying that our family really enjoys staying at the The Lookout. This was our second stay over the last four years. We travel together every Labor Day weekend. Myself and my husband and our three adult children with their spouses and our two grandchildren look forward to this trip every year, as this is the one time a year that we all get to unwind and just relax together in a vacation setting. This year was no different and we had a great time at the lookout and Lake Chelan. We were however disappointed in the home we stayed in this time. While it had ample room for all of us, the house was not fully equipped as we would have wanted it. The home was very outdated: the icemaker on the fridge did not work most of the time, the water maker stuck and sprayed water all over the kitchen floor. The letters and numbers on the stove top were worn off which made it difficult to know what temp you were cooking on. The thermostat did not regulate properly. The upstairs in the house was hot most of the time. When we tried to open the windows in the upstairs living room, the frames for the windows were defective so we decided to not even try as we were concerned the windows would fall out. The handle on the barbecue was broken. The upstairs bedroom has a type of French doors that are extremely difficult to close. The house could use a run through to check for all of the broken things. I think there was more but I didn't write them all down. The house has great potential but it needs some TLC by the owners. Because of all of these reasons I would not stay in this home again nor would I recommend it to anyone else. If we come back next year, I am hoping the owners take more pride in the home we choose.

Uplake Perch
Enjoy a unique Lake Chelan vacation experience in one of The Lookout's premiere homes. This luxury custom three-car garage, five-bedroom home that sleeps 12 was built with lakeside living in mind. Panoramic up lake and mountain views can be enjoyed from the large picture windows in the living room and expansive deck, which also connects to the upstairs master bedroom. This home is at the heart of this growing village and fronts Hilltop Park. With its proximity to the town of Chelan, the lake, local wineries, and outdoor spaces, there are always activities to enjoy year-round.
Uplake Perch features traditional styling with a modern touch that fits seamlessly within its lakeside setting. Natural wood trim and stone fireplace surround give the nod to traditional architectural details, while stainless steel appliances and granite countertops throughout the house make this home the ultimate vacation destination.
Home comforts include a fully stocked kitchen with island seating, a separate chef's pantry, and a large dining table with an adjacent stone-surround fireplace. The spacious, open living room with vaulted ceilings and large picture windows looks westward over the lake and surrounding neighborhood. Or, open the deck door and take in these incredible elevated views from the deck, located just off the living space, with comfortable seating and an outdoor fireplace.
In the spotlight of this home is a second stone-surround fireplace found in the lower level media room with a waterfall above it! Its dramatic height reaching up through the loft-style opening onto the main level, adds balance to the living areas and complements the natural wood trim and tile floor. Make yourself a refreshing beverage at the media room wet bar, step outside onto the covered ground-level patio, or cozy up in front of the large flat screen TV for a favorite movie. This is a great space for kids to play while adults can enjoy their time upstairs and keep an eye on them from above.
Each of the four generously sized bedrooms highlights quality furnishings, comfortable beds, fine linens, and plenty of storage space for a weekend or summer-long visit. All four bathrooms boast wood cabinets, granite counters, and beautiful tilework. The upstairs master bedroom features a king-size bed, a private deck with stunning views, and a full bath with a separate Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. A smaller bedroom on the main floor has two twin beds, perfect for kids. The lower-level master bedroom also enjoys great views and plenty of closet space. The other two downstairs bedrooms feature comfortable queen-sized beds along with a bunk bed in one and share a full bathroom.
This burgeoning Lake Chelan community has much to offer. Start making family memories that will last a lifetime today, and reserve your luxury home at the Lookout!
